Guides

Short, practical notes on the decisions that actually change which appliance you should buy.

Choosing a hob width

Hob width follows your worktop cut-out, not the other way round. Domino hobs start at 30 cm and can be combined; 60 cm suits most standard runs; 80 and 90 cm give more space between pans. Always check the cut-out dimensions listed on the product page against your worktop.

Induction, or induction with extraction?

An aspiration hob draws steam and smells down through the hob itself, which removes the need for a hood above the island. A conventional induction hob pairs with a wall, island, ceiling or built-in hood. Both are on the site; the category filter separates them.

Ducted or recirculating extraction

Ducted extraction vents outside and is the more effective option where a duct route exists. Recirculating extraction filters the air and returns it to the room, using charcoal or long-life filters that need periodic replacement or regeneration. Each hood lists which modes it supports.

Reading airflow and noise figures

Airflow is quoted in cubic metres per hour to the IEC standard, and noise in dB(A) at each speed. A hood with high airflow at low noise is doing more work quietly, which matters most in open-plan kitchens. Both figures appear in the specifications section.
